Moving Checklist

We streamline the moving process for you

We have created the checklists below to answer some of the most common questions we hear from tenants about moving. Please review the information below and give us a call if you have any questions not covered on this page: (866) 626-4668

Move-In Checklist

First Month's Rent & Security Deposit
Your first month's rent and security deposit are both due at the lease signing. Please confirm the amounts with us in advance.

Move-in Date & Inspection
We will set your move-in date and provide all information about the initial inspection at the lease signing.

Utilities
Utilities should be placed in your name immediately after the lease signing. Please be sure to handle this promptly to avoid losing access to your utilities.

You are responsible for keeping your accounts current throughout the duration of your stay.

Move-Out Checklist

Notice of Intent to Vacate
Planning to move out of your rental home? Please refer to your lease to determine your legal move-out date. You are responsible for paying your rent through this day.

We ask that you provide us with written notice of your intention to vacate in accordance with the terms of your lease.

Property Condition
Before handing in the keys for your rental home, you'll need to bring your rental back to rent-ready condition. This includes the following:

Rental Cleaning: Start by decluttering and removing any personal items. Then, dust and wipe down all surfaces, including countertops, shelves, and baseboards. Vacuum or sweep and mop the floors thoroughly.

In the kitchen, clean appliances, the inside of cabinets, and sanitize the sink. Scrub the bathroom, paying attention to the toilet, bathtub, and tiles. Don't forget to wipe down light fixtures, switches, and doorknobs. Replace any damaged fixtures or bulbs. Finally, empty and clean all trash containers.

Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If you have any outdoor space where you typically address landscaping responsibilities like mowing the law, please handle these chores once more before moving out.

Repairs: If any damage occurred inside your rental home during your stay, please take the necessary measures to make repairs. This involves patching nail and screw holes, replacing broken glass, and repainting any stained areas of your rental.

Security Deposit
After you move out, we will conduct a final inspection of your rental home. If we identify any damage, we will schedule repair visits and use your deposit to cover the related expenses.

Remember, you cannot use your deposit for your final rent payment.
